Carr Lodge is a one time mansion in Carr Lodge park Horbury. The house took it's name when it was bought by a nephew of John Carr the architect and one time mayor of York who was born in Horbury. The park itself was created when the old north field of Horbury was enclosed in 1790 and the ridges of the old strip cultivation can still be seen in the park today. Memories 2010 Shrewsbury Festival and The Severn Guilders side are perfoming a version of this dance. Some interesting variants on figures were spotted. But still recognisable as the basic dance. If you get a chance to see the Guilders check it out. And for some the sight of Guilders and Ironmen brings back happy memories of "Folk Around the Wrekin" and fond memories of Big Brian Samuels.
